# Mirid for iPhone and iPad: developer preview

[Download the Xcode source ZIP](Mirid-iOS-0.1.0-developer-preview-source.zip). [Checksums](SHA256SUMS.txt). [Release metadata](release.json).

Version 0.1.0, prepared 9 October 2026. This download contains the Xcode project
and source for Mirid's independently written native iOS app. It requires a Mac
with Xcode and supports iOS 17 or later. It is not an iPhone installer, a signed
IPA or a TestFlight invitation.

## Build for your own device

1. Extract the ZIP on a Mac and open `Mirid-iOS/Mirid.xcodeproj` in Xcode.
2. In Xcode, sign in to your Apple Account. Select the MiridApp target, open
Signing & Capabilities, and select your development team.
3. Connect your iPhone or iPad, trust the Mac, and enable Developer Mode when
prompted. If the bundle identifier belongs to another team, change it to an
identifier available to your team for this personal build.
4. Select your device as the run destination and choose Run.
5. In Mirid, open Settings > Providers, choose NanoGPT or OpenRouter, and save
your own provider key. Choose a model and start a conversation.

A free Apple Account can use Xcode's Personal Team for personal-device testing.
Apple's personal provisioning expires after seven days, so you may need to
rebuild and reinstall. See [Apple's account guidance](https://developer.apple.com/help/account/basics/about-your-developer-account).

For the full build and test commands, see `Mirid-iOS/BUILD.md` inside the extracted ZIP. The generated
project is included, so XcodeGen is only needed if you regenerate the project
or run the automation. Xcode 16.4 was used for the verified build.

## What this preview includes

Direct NanoGPT and OpenRouter text chat, streamed replies, saved conversations,
persona instructions, and device speech playback. API keys stay in the device's
Keychain. Replies send your conversation and instructions to the provider you
select; provider charges and policies apply. NanoGPT has separate subscription
and pay-as-you-go choices. No local model server or desktop companion is needed.

This preview does not include chat sync, local models, attachments, image
generation or cloud speech input. Backgrounding the app stops an active reply
and preserves its partial text.

## Verification and distribution status

The source and generated project match tested revision
`2952cc51ae0f4217d3bfef7d52df3620d525db83`. Automated verification passed 20 core
tests, 3 build-script tests, and 11 app/UI tests on each of an iPhone SE and
iPad mini simulator. Release simulator and unsigned device archive builds
completed. A physical-device installation and paid provider completion were
not performed. This public package adds this notice and the existing project
licence; it changes no tested application or build source.

Public TestFlight installation is not available for this preview. TestFlight
distribution needs an eligible Apple Developer team, a provisioned build
uploaded to App Store Connect, and the required beta review before a public
invitation can be offered. See [Apple's TestFlight steps](https://developer.apple.com/help/app-store-connect/test-a-beta-version/testflight-overview/).

The existing Mirid repository licence is included unchanged as `License`.
See `Mirid-iOS/PROVENANCE.md` inside the extracted ZIP for the independent implementation record.
